Cystic Acne Treatments
I have found seven cystic acne treatments that have been proven to treat cystic acne and reduce inflammation.
So far we have talked about home remedies for cystic acne, and how to cure it. I want to cover some Cystic Acne Treatments today, but let’s review what we have talked about a little. To briefly recap; to really cure acne and cystic acne, a lifestyle change must take place. Some of these changes are exercise, drinking lots of water, clean up the diet and eat more fruits, vegetables, eggs, nuts, leafy greens, sprouts, and beans. Dairy must be cut out, oily cosmetics and hair products can also cause problems.
These are just a handful of positive changes you can make to achieve clear skin. Remember these types of changes take some time to work and are not a flip-a-switch cure. This takes patience and discipline, but you can do it. They are more powerful and have other positive effects on your health.
Some of them would be more vitamins (low vitamin levels can be a cause), more fiber which by the way cleans out your GI tract and this is where some toxins can enter your body from. Basically, if you put clean fuel inside you body, your skin will be clean.
OK, now we have made some changes, but what are we to do with the cystic acne we have now? What are some cystic acne treatments for these blemishes?
Good question, one thing they advise you to do is NOT squeeze them! Why? because that will drive the infection deeper, horrible thought yes? Plus, it will leave the acne scar on your face that will be there for years. I am in my 40′s and still have those scars.
So, here are a few things we can do to treat cystic acne:
1. Wash with tea tree oil soap, this is one of nature’s natural cleansers and actually kills the acne infection P. acne and works to reduce skin inflammation. Isn’t that just too cool?!
2. Ice down the throbbing little mound. Ice as you may already know works to reduce inflammation, and will help reduce the pain you experience as well.
3. Zinc. Start taking some zinc gluconate supplements; it works as an effective in the treatment of inflammatory acne.
4. Ibuprofen, this will help with your pain and inflammation of the cystic acne.
5. Detoxify your body. This will cleanse out all the toxins and nasty things out of your system that are brining on the cystic acne.
6. Fasting helps some folks, though check with your doctor before doing this. One could just fast from everything but water, fruits, vegetables, and nuts for a day. This would be healthy and not cause any problems and pump some great nutrition into your body.
7. Nicotinamide, (Vitamin B3) applied in gel form, was found out to be as effective as topical antibiotics. This is available both as a prescription and over-the-counter.
