Oatmeal and Acne
Ever wonder how you can get clear skin naturally? How about trying an Oatmeal mask?
Don’t expect this mask to work with one application; it may take awhile to clear up your skin using this mask on a daily basis. So without any more delay lets take a look at how to make an oatmeal mask. I am going to give you several different oatmeal mask options to try. Hope one of them will work for you.
Oatmeal Mask #1
• What you want to do first is cook oatmeal following the directions on the box/container, once the oatmeal is cooked let it cool to a warm temperature so that it won’t burn your face.
• Apply it to your face and leave it on there for 10-15 minutes.
• After the allotted time wipe it off with a warm wash cloth, pat your face dry, then immediately apply a moisturizer, one moisturizer that is good is something that has aloe vera in it. (See herb article for more on acne prevention with aloe vera).
• Again remember that this is not going to be an overnight solution, but I am sure that once you start using the mask you will be very pleased with the outcome.
The just oatmeal mask is just one of the ways to use oatmeal to treat acne, another is to add yogurt to your oatmeal mask. There is not much out there regarding yogurt and oatmeal but what I did find is what you want to do is the same as with the just oatmeal mask;
Oatmeal Mask #2 with yogurt
• Make the oatmeal according to the box after it is done cooking and you are letting it cool.
• Add the yogurt to the oatmeal.
• Once it’s just warm not too hot that it’s going to burn your skin. Apply the mixture to your face allow it to dry, having it dry on your skin will allow it to treat the acne best.
• Once it’s dry, take a warm cloth and wipe the area off completely, dry your face with a towel and then add an antibiotic cream for your skin type.
• You will want to use this mask for almost a month before you will see results. Some people have found that this treatment might not work for them so do not be discouraged if you are one of those people.
• Also there is a slight possibility that the mask might bother your skin, if that happens stop using this method of treating acne.
One last way of treating acne with oatmeal is adding honey to the oatmeal; we talked in length in previous post about using honey for treatment of acne so I won’t talk much about it here today. Just to say that honey and oatmeal will work wonderfully to kill bacteria that is on the skin surface. See my article here on Honey and Acne for a mask to treat acne with honey.
I believe that you will find using one of the above oatmeal masks to be the most economically efficient way of treating acne
