Coconut Oil for Acne

Coconut Oil for Acne is very powerful, healthy, and natural remedy to heal acne, inflammation from acne, and acne scars.

A few years ago I read a book by a professional on the health benefits of using coconut oil in the diet. He cited studies and gave actual, personal hands-on experiences touting all the good things this oil can do for your body when used with a healthy lifestyle.

Then I was doing research for another article and found out that one can successfully use Coconut Oil for Acne. They say that it is a very good natural way of healing the acne; in fact many say it is one of the best.

Honestly, this was much a surprise to me and I had to dig into this for you. I wanted to find out what it does, how to use it, and if it is legit report it to you my readers.

Here is what I have found about using Coconut Oil for Acne:

1.    What it does or how does it work when we apply it?

This is the logical place to start right? First of all acne is caused when we get an infection of the openings of the sebum glands, the glands that produce and secret the oil which keeps our skin from looking like a gators. The infection or inflammation is from bacteria and this causes a plug or blockage in the sebum secretion, creating redness, pain, and swelling (acne, or pimple).
When we use coconut oil for acne we are employing two powerful anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral agents found in any food. Specifically they are capric acid and lauric acid; curiously they are the same acids found in mother’s milk and help protect the baby from infections. Once applied to our skin, there are some microbes on the skin that change these good acids into monocaprin and monolaurin respectively, simply put we replace the protective layer preventing further microbial infection
In addition to this, coconut oil is soothing to the skin and deeply penetrates. It is absorbed quickly and will cut down on inflammation from acne. Coconut Oil for acne will also help to heal any wound we have which may be aggravated from our acne.
Coconut oil can be used in our diet and is high in Vitamin E, which keeps our skin healthy from the inside. Sort of a dual attack on the enemy to our clear skin.

2.    How do we use Coconut Oil for Acne?

From my research you just apply it directly to your skin. It will be very soothing and absorbed right in. Now you may see some worsening, but this is just the oil drawing out the toxins and bacteria Propionibacterium Acnes (P.Acnes).
Anytime you do a detox like this, even on your skin; your body will react in this way. Then, as the toxins leave your body the healing and better health comes.

3.    Is this legit?

My research says… YES it is. I know from my own research for my own healthy diet that coconut oil is good for the body. Plus, I have given you scientific data on what it does, and how. All proven that these substances work in these ways to heal acne.

Now remember, not everybody is the same and there are something that do not work the same on everyone around that tries it. But coconut oil for acne has been the savior of many many people out there and unchained them from being a slave to this bacteria.

A couple last things is they recommend pure virgin coconut oil and it is available at health food stores and supermarkets. Plus, is not expensive at all.

I have found some extra virgin coconut oil for you from a place with award winning products and customer service, just us the link below.

I found a video talking about all the positive health effects of coconut oil. They go far beyond just using coconut oil for acne.

    Julie,

Thank you for stopping by. When I did the research for the article, I was delightfully surprised at the benefits of coconut oil. This seems to be one of those items we would put the prefix of “super” in front of. Research says that it should be good for using on pimples that way. Let us know how that works out for you.

I’ve been using coconut oil for about 7 years now. Even when all the bad press was out about it on movie theater popcorn, I continued to use it.
If you haven’t tried making popcorn with it you’re missing out. It’s great!

I’ve been doing research on inflammation and I did find, it is an anti inflammatory if you use pure virgin coconut oil and not the stuff you find in the grocery store by the shortening.

    Diane,

Wow, thank you for the suggestion, I will try it. I have a device called … Whirley pop…(I think). It makes deliteful popcorn. I will get some coconut oil and try it also then. OH, I also found at my local supermarket they had coconut milk. I know it has lots of good nutrition in it. I am lactose intollerant and buy goats milk, which is very close to human breast milk and I can drink it.
Thank you for the info on the inflammation properties of coconut oil as well.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing, I learned much, and I love to learn.
